Logistics
Distribution yard, Carson: the bobtail that left empty
- Problem
- A loaded trailer was stolen from a 50-trailer yard with a tailgated gate. The operator wanted every tractor logged and the rows watched.
- Approach
- LPR on both lanes with appointment matching, vehicle-dwell rules on trailer rows, thermal on the back fence, and a gate-challenge protocol.
- Result
- Second month: a bobtail backing toward Row C at 02:05 was warned and left without a trailer; plate forwarded to police. Gate tailgating incidents dropped from weekly to zero after the first challenge.

- Result
- Propped rear doors at close fell from 11 in the first week to 1 in week six. Cash discrepancies: 0 in the following quarter. The owner reads one email at 7 a.m.

Telecom
Wireless dealer, Hawthorne: devices accounted for
- Problem
- A three-store dealer had unexplained device variances every month and a commission dispute with every statement.
- Approach
- Cage access logging and demo-wall checks, IMEI-level reconciliation from the dealer system, and monthly carrier-to-POS commission reconciliation.
- Result
- Variances traced to an unlogged cage habit and a transfer gap between two stores; both fixed by procedure. Commission disputes went from monthly to none in the following two cycles.
